Junping Chen, MD, Ph.D.

Chief Medical Officer, China

Dr. Chen has over 18 years of experience in drug discovery and development and is currently Chief Medical Officer for China Operations, based in the U.S. Previously, Dr. Chen served as Vice President of Development for CASI Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CASI, Inc., based in China.

Prior to joining CASI, Dr. Chen held senior positions at Oriental Biomedical Technology Company Ltd., responsible for evaluating biomedical logistics of potential projects for investment. She was involved in investing 11 biotech companies, of which multiple companies were successfully listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Prior to this, she served as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Technical Officer of Life Infinity Science and Technology Company Ltd., responsible for licensing in and registering drug products in the Asia Pacific region. Dr. Chen began her career as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, specializing in Clinical Research. 

Dr. Chen holds an MD and an MS in Immunology from Harbin Medical University and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Dean McGee Eye Institute at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences.
